Life’s Hardest Moments

Life is going to kick you in the ass sometimes, and that is inevitable. You have to endure the rough situations to enjoy the happy moments. These moments teach you valuable lessons. Through breakups you learn how to better yourself for the future and what you want in your next partner. Through sickness you learn how to truly appreciate the individuals you have around you. Through all pain, there is something to be learned.

“You’re going to go through tough times- that’s life. But I say, ‘Nothing happens to you, it happens for you.’ See the positive in negative events.”

Joel Osteen

We were taught this as young children when our parents constantly encouraged us to get back up again after falling down. These lessons have been instilled in us from day one.

One of the most difficult things that has happened to me was a very horrible car accident. I was the passenger, and my ex was the driver. He had a seizure while we were on our way home one day. For weeks after I was having nightmares and flashbacks, and I had trouble riding in cars without freaking out about every sharp turn or every abrupt stop.

Though this accident was life-altering, there were so many lessons I learned from it. I learned to cherish every moment I have with the people I love, and to never perceive a moment as “little” or “unimportant”. This day in age, everyone in the world is screaming negative thoughts at us. If you look at the news all you see is panic and destruction. People fail to see the beauty that exists in this world and through humanity.

If you stop focusing on all the awful shit and start giving your attention to the good moments your life WILL change. Your outlook WILL change.

I want to hear back from the rest of you. What is one of the most difficult things you have been through? What did you learn from it?
